French Drain Design and Installation
The design concept of french drain type water drainage system have not changed since the 1800's. french drain installation has always been done with a trencher to dig a trench drain down into the dirt 1-2 feet or more. Then installing rocks, gravel or tile drains (anything allowing a greater amount of permeability) in the trench drain instead of dirt. This allows storm water to permeate down the french drain. Remember storm water will always take the path of least resistance.
